Stainless power header install... now rattling?

I did my best to make sure there was a minimum of a quarter inch of clearance on everything, but at a cold start, i'm getting a ton of rattling. However, it seems to go away after the car warms up. anyone else run into problems like such? i plan on taking a rubber mallet to it to see if i can narrow it down

No issues here double check all bolts / clamps first before beating on it with a mallet

my theory is that the driver side fully cooled off after we installed it, and that the clamps loosened up (we split the project into two days, driver on one and passenger the next) figure its possible. i'll tighten everything up as much as i can before i start wailing at it

I also don't have any rattles at all... I would check everything really well before taking the mallet too it... Also congrats on the upgrade!

Have read about the header hitting the frame or cradle on the d/s, would that be the case here? Maybe loosening up the engine mounts and seeing if the engine can be barely shifted to the right may help? <<< this is all from my bad memory on things I may or may have not read, lol

Check your tunnel brace. Some times the header install lowers the exhaust just a little and puts the two pipes close to the brace. Some had to shim the brace and some took it right off.

Stainless Expands when it gets hot. So After your first heat cycle the system has moved and when it cools it retracts and is hitting on something. I would check the system out for any contact anywhere. Once you have the system where you want it you may want to put a tack weld of two on each joint to assure the system doesn't move again but also easy to remove if needed in the future. If you have any other questions let me know. Thanks

Thanks Chris

My SP long tubes went in in less then 2 hours ( have a lift at the shop ) ran them for a week and checked them again ,all still tight . Fit like a glove no leaks or rattles at all . Truly a first class product at bargain price. First thing I would check is your motor mounts ,they are 5 years old and may be shot.

When I tightened my exhaust up I had to push it up because it was sagging a bit.... Not sure if that would cause a rattle though
