Power mods without voiding warranty?

Ok, so i have read just about every topic on power mods and really am having a hard time here. Can anyone answer what type (if any) power mods will not void my factory warranty AND the extended warranty. Yes i bought the 5yr/100k maximum wrap plan warranty.

The only things i'd really be interested in at all are maybe a CAI that does not require relocating anything. The other would be exhaust. Definately could use a bit more rumble.

Just can't seem to find straight answers on what will, can or may void my warranties. Some say it won't some say it might. Ahhhh

any decent mods should be tuned, or your throwing cash away.
warranty gone. so dont mod, unless your prepared to have no warranty.

Custom tune for a CAI and or exhaust such as a axle back? A good CAI won't throw any code and won't require any custom tune nor would an axle back upgrade.

My K&N CAI and Stainless Works never threw any codes. Now who's to know if I left hp on the table without having had a tune back then. The warranty issue is very complex and there's a law that is supposed to protect us if we can prove the mod didn't cause the damage. It's a very thin line. I havnt read too many posts about people getting charged for repairs so either the cars are reliable and don't require service or the dealer is not pointing fingers at the mods. There are lots of posts here that states GM is getting tough on those who mod thier cars. I'm also a firm believer that GM has a way to tell if you changed your tune with some register in the system.

i thought you said decent mods......intake and exhaust will lean you out some. minor gains.

again, if warranty is your holy grail, leave the car alone. whether its 400 crank horse, or 415, whats the difference.
wanna sound beefier, throw a gmpp axleback at it, and retain warranty.

Not really looking for real power gains. just better air flow and better sound.

I am considering the gmpp axleback it just doesnt sound the best from what i heard on youtube for the money it costs. Thanks for the suggestion though.

It really comes down to your dealer, period. You may have a dealer that is leanient or you can find one who is. Yet any damage to car they have to prove it was due to the mod. Of course they wont warranty any non factory installed or dealer added parts. Bottom line talk to your dealer.

Buy any axleback that you want so long as it bolts on and no cuts have to be made. If the car breaks due to the fault of GM just unbolt the mod and reattach stock mufflers, boom 30 min easy save

I did a muffler delete with pipes only and 3 1/2 inch dual walled tips, sounds awesome, with very little drone, also added the K & N typhoon coldair intake, I got noticeable hp gain and pedal response, plus many comments on how she sounds.

Any CAI you want. Cat back exhaust, although I went ARH LT's headers with cats. The #1 no no is a tune. When I broke my output shaft the only thing GM cared about was confirming the stock tune. That's it.

I didn't want to void my warranty right now either so I have gotten a Roto-fab CAI, Vmax ported throttle body and Solo high flow cats. From all my research, these are all ok, but you should still call your dealer and ask. No tune, no long tubes, I hear short tubes are okay.
