I just bought a set of 10 spoke ZL1 wheels that I want to get painted midnight silver. Can anyone recommend a good painter in northeast ohio. I am located in mentor, so the closer the better.

You want them painted or powder coated?

I use a powder coater in Warren area. I think he charges somewhere around 100/wheel. I can't remember if 20s are slightly more or not you'll have to ask.

Send him a message on Facebook https://m.facebook.com/Screamingturtlecoatings

I am going back and forth between paint and powder. Not sure what to do.

I prefer powder coat. If you notice the factory black 10 spoke wheels... they don't last long without scuffing or chipping

Powder coating it the way to go.

Talk to the powder coater first about his process. make sure he preheats the part first.

Also, make sure you look at some of his finished product.

Unfortunately powder coating is really easy so everyone tries to do it, but if it isn't done right, it won't last or looks bad.

Anyone happen to have a crank pinning kit laying around? Should have kept the one I had from my magnuson.

I used Straightaway Fabrication here in Ashland to powder coat my stock rims. They charged me $45 a rim to blast and powder coat. I'd recommend powder coat over just paint, it's more durable.

the main one in your area will be Neocc, which stands for the North East Ohio Camaro club

if I'm not mistaken, one of the disciples is part of that club

So my car hasn't been handling that great lately. It started out pulling to one side when I braked hard. Thought maybe I had a frozen caliper. Then it progressed to feeling like the rear-end was steering as well while braking. Today going around a corner while accelerating, the rear-end felt like it was steering the car. When I got home, I jacked it up, tugged on all the suspension parts front and rear and found nothing loose. I swapped tires from one side to the other and took it for a drive to rule out a bad tire. Still felt like the rear was steering. Got home and put the rear up on ramps. Found on the driver side the wheel-side bolt of the toe rod was really loose. It was tight when the wheel was off the ground, but when loaded, it was really loose. Tightened it up, took another drive, and the car is back to handling the way it should. I'm glad the bolt didn't come all the way out while I was driving. Not sure how it got loose. I haven't touched that bolt in over 3 years.

Weird, vibration maybe? I don't remember, is that a "locknut" style nut? nylon or pinched?

Glad you got it figured out without a mishap.

No nut at all. Just a bolt that threads into the wheel hub. When I have more time, I'm going to pull it out and put some loctite on it.

I never felt any vibrations. I'm thinking a few of the potholes I've hit in the last month might have caused it. I've hit a few really hard. :(
