SEMA to have Camaro 1LE "Track Pack"?

The rumble is there'll be a SEMA announcement/showing of a Camaro 1LE "Track Pack" concept with improved suspension/wheels/steering. Details to follow...

http://media.gm.com/content/media/us...7_semaconcepts

Anyone know anything, yet, or do we have to wait for the press announcement?

Camaro 1LE Concept

Born in the Camaro's third generation and refined further in the fourth generation as a road-racing performance package, the legendary 1LE option code designation returns to the Camaro as a concept intended to carve up road courses. While only a concept, it borrows production components from both the Camaro SS and forthcoming Camaro ZL1 to deliver a competition-ready package. Hash mark graphics on the front fender are pure Chevrolet racing cues, too.

Vehicle highlights:

Victory Red exterior color, with flat black hood and hash mark extensions
Satin black splitter, rocker panels, rear spoiler and outside mirrors
Sport suspension featuring Magnetic Ride Control
Electric power steering
Six-speed manual close-ratio transmission
Lightweight 20x10-inch (front) and 20x11-inch (rear) racing wheels (satin black)
Goodyear® Eagle F1 Supercar G asymmetrical tires (from the ZL1)
Brembo® six-piston front calipers, with two-piece front rotors, and four-piston rear calipers (Chevrolet Official Licensed Product)
Dual exhaust outlets with ZL1-style active exhaust and diffuser
Shock tower brace
Chevrolet Accessories red engine cover
Black leather interior with Light Stone stitching
Graphite Silver door and instrument panel inserts
ZL1 shifter with Light Stone stitching
ZL1 flat-bottom steering wheel
Chevrolet Accessories pedal kit

“The Camaro 1LE concept is all about the track,” said Al Oppenheiser, chief engineer for the Camaro. “It’s an all-out race car package that pays tribute to that special option from the past."

.................................................. .................................................. ...........................

NO "extra" power...hmmm...

Something tells me, regardless of badge, this is gonna be referred to as "Z/28". Does this car possess enough ZL1 DNA to BASH the BOSS?

Seeing how the Boss only beat the stock 2011 Camaro by 2 seconds I think the 1LE will beat it lol

Exhaust & the electric steering should free up some power, not much though

No ... they would be referring to 1LE, an option code that I had never heard of until today. Apparently, it was an option package that was offered on Z28s that came about because of the a showroom stock racing series

DG3, the 1LE was actually a further development of a "Made in Canada" GM/Player's Challenge Gen-3 F-car...

http://www.playerschallengeseries.ca/

...a Series that brought a certain Ron Fellows to GM Racing's attention.

http://ve3eie.ncf.ca/1le_history.html

...which was carried over to Gen-4...

The rarest 1LE? A 1995 Firebird Formula...exactly TWO built...and I ordered/sold one of 'em...

So for clarification the 1LE was based on a Z28? And if so why is the thread in the General section of the forum?

For the same reasons that the SSX and the 'track pack' are there

Dude! I cannot believe that you were unfamiliar with the 1LE prior to today! Personally, I always thought of the 1LE as a F-Body counterpart to the Z51 Corvette, albeit a lot more livable as a daily driver when compared to the fairly rough C4 Z51 package.
