I doubt really there's is a handful of power difference between all top systems. I think a muffler is picked for sound. Im not too fussed about every last HP gains from a muffler, but more so the sound it makesnothing worse driving a V8 if it doesnt sound like you want....

I live in Atlanta (Stone Mountain Area) I am going to purchase a Borla S-Type exhaust Tuesday versus a Magnaflow. Is this a good choice? Both have lifetime warranties and stainless steel. I do not want a system that is overly loud and slightly above factory. I want it to have deep low tones with no resignation. Please chime in ASAP!!! Thank you Camaro forum.

Guys, In the link below you can see video of our system being installed and near the end there's an excellent sound clip that clearly indicates what you get with ARH Pure Thunder mufflers. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Thanks.

Mufflers/cat-back systems make very little hp over stock on these cars. They are basically for SOUND ONLY. The real power comes from a good set of LT's.

I agree with that, the one bit of performance that you will get with aftermarket mufflers is a weight reduction, typically of almost 25 lbs over stock. Our entire header kit with our mufflers drops almost 50 lbs off of the car total weight.

Mufflers make a huge change in how the car is going to sound. Of course headers will just add to that as well. If the car has headers on it, or a cam...all of this is going to play a part into how the car will sound.

If you can, listen to as many of them as you can in person....there are tons of

Our headers and mufflers (stock LS3)

Our headers, Magnaflow mufflers (G6X3)

Our headers, MagnaFlow mufflers (G6X3)

Our headers, stock mufflers (stock LS3)

Stock manifolds GM PP (Borla Sport) Mufflers

Our headers, Flowmaster mufflers (G6XB cam)

As you can see...every one of them has a different tone to it.
