My ABM Model

Well, it seems they don't want to delivery my ABM 2SS. Been sitting at the plant for days now. Stripes were added earlier in the week. So, in the meantime, I made a model to remind me of what I have to look forward to.

It is a snap together model from Michael's Craft Store. It comes in Silver with black stripes. I also got a spray came of Testors Sapphire Blue Metallic and spreayed 5 coats on teh car before putting it together. This is my exact car also..

They tend to be like $12-15 and they'll probably be in the kid's crafts section with the rest of the model kits.

I've got the snap-tite one as well as the one that requires glue. Just haven't gotten around to making them. Partially because I want to get some ABM touch up paint to use on at least one of the kits.

There is a section of kids stuff and yes, that is where they are. The model kit was likr $15 and the paint was $4. Very easy. Key to painting the body is multiple light coats. Get in a hurry and it WILL RUN!! Believe me. Just spray a very light coat at a time. I did mine over a period of a week to let each coat dry good.

Should be 1:25 if it's the same as my glue together kit.

I got one from Michael's but in is not a snap together model. It's a Garage Worx by Jada and it is a 2006 concept car. Lots of parts, painting and glueing. Should be done in a few more weeks. Maybe I should have pre ordered.

There's also an AMT/ERTL (shame, I dislike their kits) one that's the concept. Its decals are a bit meager, though. Only the two gauges, fuel door, bowties and CAMARO emblems have decals. Revell does a much better job with the decals, I've found.

Ok After I saw your model I happened to go to Michaels craft and found only two them them. I got one for my friend for her Camaro and myself. Ive never built a model car it was easy but the paint selection was not so good. I couldn't find the sapphire you said you used but it turned out ok.. Gave me something to work on for a bit and now I just need the real thing in my garage. Here are some silly photos. Name: MYDRMCR.jpg
