I boxed for years in Lowell when I was A LOT younger. Eventually the broken hands and noses got to be too much. Always loved boxing, stopped watching around 1996 or so, just not enough quality fighters left in the sport. I have seen just about every important fight going back to Joe Louis era.
I saw this one live in 1990, a superb match (on par with Aaron Pryor vs Alexis Arguello in 1982). Julio Cesar Chavez stops Meldrick Taylor late in the 12th and final round on a questionable call by the referee. What a fight and what an ending:

Chavez was a beast. What he lacked in skill he made up with heart. I too care less and less about boxing. Especially with fighters like mayweather.

The Michael Moorer vs Bert Cooper fight in 1992 was a wild affair. Most memorable to me was the 5th round (in this clip, go to 2:00 mark) where Moorer somehow generates unreal leverage with short power punches and KO's Cooper after a furious combination. Reminded me of Joe Louis with those close shots:

I'm really impressed with Rose Namajunas. I hope she takes the belt. She just appears to be at a higher level than the other girls in the house. I'm not saying she is going to walk through Randa though, she has also been pretty impressive. I just don't want to see Number 1 ranked Carla win. Her wrestling is so boring to watch.
