I liked that comment by Christian:
"Hahaha, the Z28 passed the WRX like it was a minivan"

I don't think the WRX was trying to race the Camaro one bit. I own a WRX and it is a pretty capable car even against much larger displacement V8s. Keep in mind a stock WRX is capable of 0 - 60 in 4.7 seconds. If i'm not mistaken that's on par or better than the SS.

Slower than the SS. SS does 4.6 and even better when equip with 1le package

4.6 was claimed by GM when the 5th gen was first released. Most real world owners are running high 4's/low 5's for the 0-60 MPH test (similar to what stock WRX's run).
The SS is more difficult to launch properly though. WRX's are more consistent in acceleration times due to AWD and less power.

The Karussell at the Ring has this amazing feature that it's a cambered corner... Dive into it as you're supposed to, to be on the ideal line, and you can easily get over 50mph.

Pull over to the flat part, like the WRX clearly did, and you have to take that corner at max. 30-40mph to make it round there. He also deliberately slows down to let the Z/28 pass...so not much of "being his a.. handed over" going on I'm afraid.
