PLASTI-DIP UNDER THE HOOD

Good Morning everybody! Watched a few of Fonzie's videos on dipyourcar, the one on frequently asked questions. He did his exhaust tips (I'm going to use BBQ spray paint rated for 1800 degrees) and said that the Plasti dip is rated to 300 degrees. So my question is can I use the Plasti-Dip on my strut tower. Already did the end brackets w/BBQ paint and it looks awesome. Not sure how Hot it gets under the hood. I know the engine temp can get close to that, but I've never seen any of the rubber hoses or plastic that's everywhere get any damage from the heat.

Anyone try it under the hood. If I don't get any "Don't Do It's" I'll give it a try and just start out with some short 30/40 minute rides and then inspect the brace to see how its holding up.

Definitely going to try it on all the ZL1 outside emblems/badges. I'll post an after pic of the results.

Not exactly - they sell a "Glossifier" which is basically a clear coat, but it's not the best and is extremely difficult to work with.

I Plastidipped my throttle body a few months ago and its fine. Your strut tower brace will be just fine

3M now makes a new clear spray paint protection system that can be peeled off as long as a good layer of car wax on the target panel. Sorry for the mildly OT post.
