2013 v6 straight pipe

Hey guys I recently took off my mrt v2's because I wanted to drive it straight piped. I like the sound but holy Jesus is it loud. It hurts my ears inside the cabin. The pipes end beneath the car at the axle. If I were to add straight pipes onto the existing pipes and brought them to the back of the car would it be quieter? If so how much. The mrts were too quiet but a pure pipe underneath my car is too loud.

I run straight pipes and I don't have any issues. I can't comment if it is more quite because I've never ran with the exhaust ending at the axle, but my straight pipes certainly don't hurt my ears or anything.

A lot of people have some hate with straight pipe V6s, mainly because they might have that certain rice sound.

Ending the pipe at the rear axle (or in front of rear axle) turns the cabin of the car into an echo chamber--the sound resonates and reverberates. I had the same experience years ago and on road trips
it became extremely annoying! Running the pipes past the axle eliminates the problem.

Ok honesty speaking here, NO DISRESPECT to V6 owners. Man please do not do this, It sounds absolutely horrible and is very annoying to say the least. It will make anybody with a V8 laugh and make fun of you trying to think you are fast or cool. It is the same or similar as the civic or integra with the fart can, (way not cool). You have a nice car that is not annoying so just enjoy her for what she is and miss being the laughing joke.

I was at my gym a few weeks ago in Ohio before moving back and this one guy had a black V6, debadged with an ss bumper in front and straight pipes. He lit it up leaving out the gym , One other member with a badass ctsv looked at me (he knows my ss), and we both shake our heads and start laughing at him. We were laughing at the exhaust note btw NOT the fact it was a V6.

V6's, like children of the Victorian era, should be seen and not heard.

I heard a 2014 V6 with the dual mode exhaust and it has a cool sound.

The trick is to go for a sound you like but don;t try to make it sound like a V8. It just can't be done but it can be made to sound cool. A formula 1 race car sounds different than a Nascar race car but they both sound cool!

I've Seen V6 Mustangs, Camaro's And Challengers That have changed there V6 Exhaust. Guys To me They just sound Bad and Not badass. I drive a Sixxer, And I hear these other V6's I just laught. I've still got the Stock Exhaust, and I want to add Headers, But for the power not the Sound. The stock Mufflers are Great.
