electric water pump
ok guys well i am trying to get as much as i can from my car with bolt ons, and was wondering if a water pump is worth any gains.? if so can i daily drive it.? and could i do autocross runs.?

It may get a little bit of gain, the big risk, being an electric pump, it's more exposed to failure, you got fuses and electric mechanism involved. IMO

the pump has a free wheeling pulley so you don't have to change your belt length.

The pump is not run by the belt, thats what frees up power. The pulley on the electric pump spins free. You may have clearence problems with a Meziere pump and a FAST102 and NW102 TB.

I don't think you'll have any problems running this pump on an autocross or for daily driving either. I toured the Meziere facility and met the owner and son. Go to my thread for pics of the tour. They even assured me I wouldn't have any problems doing track days. They sighted examples of professional racers who are using it, just don't ask me who because I can't remember.
I the meantime, I guess I should keep my stock pump and polish and paint it so that it will match the thyme of my build just in case I need a fall back, LOL. |
