Pride? not hardly. From what I see here V-6 owners are going to have to always justify their decision in the face of some ignorant, rude SS owners and wannabes. Hey, I could have gained 1.3 seconds in the 1/4 if I spent $7.8k more, noooottt! I don't need the glory. Sorry but I doubt many SS owners will ever see a track but you can brag and more power to ya.

It seems that some here would just like to see the v-6 go away and that's a shame.

Yes. But we have the pride to stand up face to face with some ignorant, rude SS owners and wannabes and justify our decision.

F*ck all that jazz. If ANYONE gives me grief for buying the v6, I'll tell them to f8ck off, especially a SS owner.

I am getting a 2LT RS M6 in July. Times are tough, gas is costly.
I was looking for a midlife crisis car - saw the SS and I would buy it but I don't think the rest of the car is as good as that engine. (m8) That sounds bizarre I know but based on the car as a whole I'd rather pay 28K with the excellent v6 - it's a better match for the rest of the car. I'll buy a 2LT and see what happens next with the SS or maybe ..the zed.

7.8k more? Yeah if you are talking about a basic LS vs a SS2.... Most people I see that ordered V6's have been 2LT which is within $1000 of the SS1... Major difference being long term prices you pay with gas/insurance which I calculated to be estimated at $5000 difference over a 5 year period and 100k miles.

ya.... But if you willing to get the 1SS, then your willing to get a 1LT because options aren't an issue. So you need to compare $24k vs $31K...$7k difference, plus the estimated $5k in fuel saved over the years, plus the cheaper tires (assuming you stick to the stock 18's.

You have to ask yourself if a Stereo, C&C, RS pckg, guages and leather are worth $5k... Yes! if you want those luxuries. NO, if you dont give a crap

If you are willing to get a 1SS def does not mean you are willing to get a 1LT in fact for me it's just the opposite... If i got a LT it would have to be a 2LT I love the leather but for me it's leather or 426 HP I choose the HP.

But not everybody cares about the leather. For them the only difference between the 1LT and the 1SS is horsepower and a big chunk of dough.

And you can do a lot with 7k dollars in the horsepower department.

Thats my point, kinda. 1LT=1SS except a v8 (slightly better wheels)

2LT, then jumping to a 1SS is a goofy comparison unless all you care about is power. The reason people get the 2LT is for the Luxury/options. People who get the 1SS, get it for the v8 power. When money is a factor, its either speed or options... or neither... lol

Why would you even mention this? If you are talking about a horsepower department you honestly should just go with the V8 in the first place....
