I'm confused....a more informed consumer, or stock holder, is the downside of the internet?

I kind of agree with fbodfather, would you rather wait a couple extra weeks or get it right away and find out there is a bunch of problems with it and be mad at GM that these problems exist and say stuff like "how did they not know about this problem"

No, that's not what he said. If there was no internet people wouldn't be getting their panties in a bunch about things that happen normally every time a car is released, such as in 2009 with the release of the Gen5 Camaro.

Do you understand now?

Yes, because people are dramatic and it gives them something to speculate about in the absence of better or more detailed information. And people also twist information, as seen in this thread, there is a marked difference between "undetermined" and "indefinite".

Have patience....GM's got it under control.

No, Just more confused consumers due to the bulk of info to digest.

The letter from GM is more than appropriate, and his request for patience is understandable and excellent customer service..however the the reference to us as consumers being more informed was a downside of the internet struck me as condescending. I have a 2010 gm and a 2012 gm and am very happy with the product.

The internet is a good thing.

Before we had the internet and I had a car on order, I had to stop by the dealer on my way home from work or call them on the phone to find out what the heck was taking so long. Of course they didn't know squat and I could tell they were making up excuses and so it made me extremely anxious about what was going on.

Now I click a few links from almost anywhere in the world and I can find out concrete info like that letter or the reply from FBodfather and feel better that things are well.

I wonder if this is in any way connected to the hold on the ZL1 front fascia?

I didn't see it that way. The exceptional volume of information, the added awareness and exposure of the internal processes cause a lot of desire for even more information. It's natural. The downside is that in an era where production and efficiency is a matter of survival, the ability to address the multitude of everyone's rising curiosities arising out of the wealth of added information is not possible.

It's a great thing to be at 4B00 (IMHO) regardless, because I never thought a vehicle of this caliber with this much ability to satisfy desire would cross my path in my lifetime.

I think Scott said it the way it has to be in today's time of info overload. If it's not right from the getgo it could be devastating to everyone.

Kinda like good reviews spread but bad ones spread 10 fold or more.

Just my 2cents

Is it putting everyone on hold? I got that the next cycle isn't going through, but the ones that have been picked up, is this coming week still going to produce cars?
