LT1 real HP numbers???

So when do you think the real HP and TQ numbers of the new LT1 will be released. All you see is "estimated 450" or "at least 450". Will be interesting to see the real numbers. How much higher do you think it will be than the 450 number.

Ford did this with the new GT500. They were saying "at least 650" and when it came out it was 662.

Send a message via AIM to FenwickHockey65
It'll probably be bumped up a bit closer to production.

I'm going to guess the Camaro LT1 will be rated either 460 hp or 464 hp based on the LT1 dyno that was posted to the SAE website. That indicated a 37.5 max hp improvement over the 'Vette's LS3 (for around 468 hp).

I'm guessing 470-475, but the irony is, if they get rid of AFM, and add a fatter cam it would easily be abit over 500hp.

Wonder how long it will take the aftermarket to start making stuff for this engine. Tuning from the aftermarket might not be out for a while too.

It is already underway in some places. I have seen a couple C7 prototype parts already. GM and other manufactures make the CAD files and even the vehicles themselves available to the aftermarket in advance. They understand the importance of the enthusiast community these days.

Dodge needs to be the same way but they are not and its the reason why I didn't keep my 392 Challenger.
