Apex decided not to make 19x10.5 ET22 wheels that are Camaro specific so you need to get the Apex hub centric rings when you buy the wheels. A pack of 4 is $10.

Apex 19x10.5 ET22 CAMARO COMPATIBLE:

Hubcentric rings:

You could also get spacers made to match the hub of the camaro and the bore of the apex wheels. (Camaro to BMW) that’s what i did after i wrecked a few sets of polycarbonate rings. You could do aluminum rings but they are a pain to get off.

Motorsporttech makes the spacers custom for 35 a piece. Very nice work too.

Link to what i used

Also, when ordering open (or any lug nuts) for that matter, make sure the hex size is 19mm, anything larger and you will mar the lug nut pocket on the apex wheels, as they are much smaller than the stock lug pockets.

Thanks for the feedback.

The custom spacers you mention were my first choice (and best) for the fronts but decided on the rings since I need them for the rear anyway. I may wind up getting the custom ones especially if the rings get stuck.

Apex recommended the Gorilla closed end lugs which are .75 hex = 19.05mm

I also will be using a LISLE STUD INSTALLER #22800

McGuard Black locks 24220 $32

Love that you put everything needed in one post, but it did bring up a question for me. Did you consider going with the camaro specific version of these wheels, just with the 35 offset?

You would still need the spacers and longer studs, but you would not have to worry with the hub rings. just a thought.

I think the turn off to the 35 offset ones is the much larger spacer needed up front. I know the whole point of the 35 offset was to keep the rears from poking out, but like Provoste pointed out in his thread about the 10.5s w/ 22 offset the poke is not bad and it actually gives the car a slightly wider rear track width which in theory should improve stability. I use the exact same setup as him and couldn't be happier with them!!!

Considered this option last year during the Camaro group buy. You would need to run a 18-20mm spacer up front and much longer studs, no thanks. I told Apex guys this and was told when they surveyed the users in 2016-17 no one asked for ET22 and that the 35s would work. They also said the ET22 rears would poke to much which is BS.

Just to confirm: do closed Gorilla lug nuts work with BOTH Apex 22s AND stock rims with longer studs? Can somebody pls confirm please? Or are the open ones the way to go? Thank you!

I’ve only used open ended lugs with both Apex and OEM wheels. I have ARP studs and I’m not sure close ended style like stock would work with extended studs (especially with OEM wheels and no spacer.)

Thanks much Eric, that was exactly my concern here.
Cheers!

Hi All,

If anyone is in need of extended stud and lug kits, we have them in stock.

28mm longer than factory studs and 19mm lug nuts for plenty of socket-to-wheel clearance.

Kind regards,
