Fbodfather it is certainly a great time to be a Chevy fan! I'm just tickled you put an LS7 in it! I want it so bad I can taste it. Thanks for doing it right.

I've always hated the mail slot. It now appears the mail slot is gone. This is a GREAT thing. Apparently it's either enough people (designers included) didn't like it and influenced it out, or it simply was a lucky design revamp. I'd like to think the former.

Either way, the Z/28 is a welcome sight. Having 2 road race worthy Camaros in the same lineup is a BONUS!

If it would help the Z/28 be more affordable I'm more than willing to vote Fbodfather for President!

- if I split the power difference, I see that's in the ~503hp range.

Could we please have a 1LE stage II with an LS7?

I have the same feelings. I was hoping the LS7 would be available for a sort of "middle of the road" between the SS and ZL1...not just in pricing, but power as well. I love the 1LE, and would be happy to pay another ~$5k-$8k more to it to get a 500hp LS7 1LE. I don't know the dyanmics of the market, but I think there are a good number of us in the middle who want something more than an SS (426 hp) but don't have or want to spend almost $60k for a ZL1. I'm ready to spend around $45k for the stage II 1LE as described above with the LS7. And please, make a medium blue available.

By the way great job Scott....keep up the good work you & your team have done...
Now moving forward to 2016 for the 6th Gen. IMO I think you guys will give us some models that we're hoping for...for the 2LT V6 the 3.6LT-Twin Turbo 420HP/230TQ(which probably be more for the Camaro).
Next the long awaited Z28 (not the Z/28) that most of us want and can afford with all the perks. I know the list is far fetched so here it is:

Let me introduce the 2016 Family……….

> 323 horsepower LS - LFX

> 420 horsepower LT - Twin Turbo

> 430 horsepower SS - LS3

> 436 horsepower SS - LS3

> 436 horsepower SS/1LE - LS3

> 450 horsepower Z28 - LSX376

> 505 horsepower Z/28 - LS7

> 580+ horsepower ZL1 - LSA

> …….

I also think with all the tradition we are trying to follow with the Z/28, we need to follow on pricing. From 67-69 the Z/28 base price averaged 5%-6% higher than the SS base price. If we base that off of todays MSRP of the 1SS, the Z/28 would start about 35K.

I would probably still pay 40-45K given it's what I want and government regulations have increased production costs, but my point is the Z/28 back in the 60's was almost as attainable as the SS was to the average person. In 69 these were the base prices of each model Z28: $3,185 - SS: $3,023. That was $152 difference.

I like this fbodfather guy. He's pretty cool. Anyway, big thanks for bringing back a real Z/28! I had saved up for a 1LE, but I've got another year to save up a little more for the Real Deal Z/28! That car is bada$$.

Nice list...but I'd give the SS,1LE, and ZL1 about a 25hp bump with the LT-1 engine....Scrap the Z28 thing...just an optional street tire and wheel package for the Z/28...and call it a day...

My take is the "Z28" has been ruled out...In a way it was the watered-down, badging thing...In the historical context, it will not be repeated...

I do apologize for my first reaction to the new 5th gen. I had a very simliar reaction to the redesign of the 4th gen in 98 and now I've owned 3 of those cars! I'm awaiting seeing a new one in person before making anymore judgments on it. I know and understand how hard you and the others at Chevrolet have worked on this car and it seems as if a lot of people including myself showed little to no appreciation and that's not right.

And I remember when the 275hp LT1 was amazing btw they are still a fun car to drive and can still make you smile like you're in a beast

We're about the same age. Your opinion is that the Camaro got uglier and uglier through the years. I don't agree with you and I don't think a whole bunch of Camaro Enthusiasts would agree. True, it's always been an internal struggle between design, engineering, manufacturing, and finance. That's the nature of the beast. I don't know of another automotive manufacturer where this doesn't happen to one extent or another. If it's true that you were an engineer for GM for 30 years, I wonder how loudly you protested when something was proposed that didn't make sense. I'm not saying you don't but I've sat in meetings where a lot of people sit there like bumps on a log during a very "spirited" discussion - and others of us spoke up and argued. We didn't always win - that's impossible But these very same bumps on logs would then leave the meeting -and suddenly find their voice and complain after the fact........... I hope that wasn't you.

"The Emperor Wears No Clothes" I think, does not apply on this website or any other - and the proof is the many posts that precipitated this post as a way of explaining WHY things were done. I've been on this site from the very beginning - and in fact I was on many sites when it was not 'blessed' by GM to do so. I'm here to tell you that the people on this site have no problems telling me exactly what they think. HOW they say it goes a long way. (...such as using fowl language-- and when people behave badly, I tend to sometimes discount their comments....)

As you are a retired GM Employee, I really wish you'd not use words like "Suck" as I don't think it's befitting the position you held and I don't think it reflects well on your fellow GM Employees and Retirees.

The LED Tail Lamps come with the RS package. The regular tail lamps are incandescent. There are reasons - one is cost. Another is that not everyone loves LEDs. Further, we listened to our enthusiasts who told us that there should be greater differentiation between an RS and a Non-RS. Yes, we listened to our customers and we will continue to do so. So we have two different types of tail-lamps on the 2014.

You may not like the tail lamps - but if you go back and read what I wrote at the beginning of this thread, I explained that a lot of people hated the current lights as well - but they evidently got used to them.

As to 'real' people input, I can't think of another car in this industry that takes more input from their enthusiasts.
