Camaro HID/HALO's : $1450, EACH - WHAT???
So friday I was told that if I wanted to replace the stock headlights in a non RS Camaro with HID/Halo's as found in an RS, that the cost would be $1450.00, Per Light, Plus Labour.
Someone tell me there's a much cheaper after-market alternative to that insanity... |

You can do a retrofit. That's the best bang for the buck. If your not into DIY www.gen5diy.com I believe is the site that sells a bolt in kit for OEM RS lights. A retro is more effort but a better performing option. And much more options for customization. Don't buy anything from AAC.

Lights-
http://www.gen5diy.com/exterior/RS_h...s/rs-headlight Harness- http://www.gen5diy.com/PnP_harnesses...ight-harness-2 60% off That's the best deal you will find unless you find a member here selling them for whatever reason. Don't ever have your dealer do anything to your car lol except maybe an oil change lol. |

^ and an oil change is the easiest thing in the world, so a dealer shouldn't touch your car for anything other than warranty work!
BTW - you can't go wrong with gen5diy.com!!! |

lol, it seems GM does NOT want you putting that RS package in afterward, they want you to buy it up front when you buy the car. Alot of service guys have said its really complicated to put a RS package on a car that doesnt have one(DRL's instead of fogs, wiring is all set up differently)

Thanks Adam!
I notice that those lights are GM / Refurbished. Are there any LED versions for the Halo's from 3rd party vendors instead of GM that you know of? |

Oracle sells a set of the LED halos... Although, they aren't all that cheap. There is also a DIY thread on how to install both the oracle halos and the oem halos

Ok great can you tell me this : Exactly what is needed for HID + LED Halo's on a non RS car? I want to be able to order the kit and take it to a garage and have them install it without any surprise missing parts.

Got both lights replaced under waranty in 2011 because OEM where cracking. Dealer said that they sell for 2,900.00$ CDN + installation. I looked at their invoice and that was the price.
