Stock 5th Camaro SS 0-60 mph times.

I know GM said that 0-60 mph for 5th Gen Camaro SS was 4.6 s auto and 4.9 s manual (better with a better driver). But it seems that most vids, and my own personal experience, that the times are usually around 5s to 5.5 s. ANd for my auto L99 powered SS it runs about 5.7s-6 s. Btw Im just using a stopwatch to time it, so theres a lot of variance there or I might be timing it wrong. Im trying to get a SCT Dashscan Data Monitor tho. Any thoughts about that?

I believe that normal reaction time is 0.3 seconds. That being the case, you could be off 0.6 seconds because you probably clicked the stopwatch as you hit the petal and clicked it again when you hit 60. Taking the 0.6 off puts you back in the ballpark.

allot of factors are involved; air temp., fuel octane, tire temp, tire pressure, engine temp, reaction time, road temp, road composition. Passenger? try it at the track.

Use your cell phone Camera and shoot a video with showing us the digital speedometor. We can give you a rough time then. You may need to do the fuse pull.

Using my iPhone, my best run has been 0-60 in 4.51 seconds. Usually run about 4.8-5.1 as my tires are starting to get pretty well seasoned now.

Road and Track/ Car and Driver and other import biased rag sheets that review cars with no torque to carry them to the 1/4 mile in a decent time. Thus they have to gear the piss out of those 4 bangers to get a decent 0-60 time and thats all they got for performance, thus thats all they care about because they are all jaded and anti american cars.

Can you tell I don't like those mags?

Ken

Most magazines i have seen (and i have seen most of them) put it right around 4.7-4.6 pretty consistently.

from that video it seems to be shifting a little early ? I thought you could hit 60+ in second gear with stock shift points, can't remember.
