I connected the battery tender to the battery in the trunk and ran the wires through one of the rubber plugs in the trunk floor. It hangs just above the rear valance - perfect. I also modified the extra charger wire so I could use it as the jumper cable if the battery dies. I used Velcro to secure to the valance.
No door handles requires forward thinking. :0) |

I keep one in each garage and one in the shed. I rotate the one in the large garage between my 87 IROC and my FJR 1300. My 69 Camaro is in the small garage and get's own. I rotate the one shed between the 4-wheeler and the lawnmower. I leave them on each one for a few weeks at a time and then move them. I've pretty much quit having battery problems since I started doing this. The winters are mild enough here that I regularly drive my 10 Camaro and my Silverado, so I don't bother with them.

Response from Battery Tender Tech Support on placement of tender under the hood on the
remote terminals ... It certainly can be attached underhood. Just find a spot that is always hot (not switched with your key). A unit like this only puts out around 1A, so its not much, and thus you dont need that heavy of a wire, but the closer to a direct connection to the main battery cable, the better |
