I don't like chrome on these cars. Red is the easy choice, like the engine cover that came with my car anyway. Blue I don't think contrasts enough.
So I said yellow, under the hood, it will surprise people when you show them and the contrast will be sharp.

I have the OEM engine cover in black and looks really good with my black 1LE. I don't have a picture right now but ill take one tomorrow for you.

What about a combination of two colors? I built a SBC several years ago, used purple, silver, and blue, with polished Aluminum and stainless steel hardware where possible. Just a thought...
