Credit card fraud

Hello,

I've some questions.*
This month, I have ordered some car parts for my Camaro, from 4 merchants on the Internet.*
I paid by credit card.*

Now I'm a victim of credit card fraud.*

Today I was at the police in order to make a report.*

That is never happened to me.*
I have a suspicion but no proof. Therefore I'll no name anyone.*

Is that also happened to anyone of you, this month?
And what do you think, how are my odds to find out who the impostor is?*

I know that will not change anything but at the moment, I'm quite unsure whether I shall ever again trust an Internet merchant.*

This is since 4 years of credit card payments my first negative experience with American Internet shops.*
I had never thought that that could happen to me.*

Damn, it makes me wanna puke. *

Call the companies and cancel the cards and let them know what happened and dispute any charges.

Call the credit bureaus and put a "freeze" on your credit.

Also, if you buy things off the internet, load the price of the item on a VISA cash card like they have at Walmart. Cost $3 to put money on it.

Then charge your purchase to the cash card. That way if someone steals that card number, it will be empty AND they won't have access to your credit line or bank account.

Don't stress...happens a lot....Best thing is to keep an eye on your accounts for when it does happen....Get charges reversed....Most here use PayPal...seems to have good protections...good luck...

It may not be the vendor/business that caused the issue. Your information could have been intercepted when you ordered. It happens a lot.

Don't count on the police. They really don't give a rat's a** about your stolen credit card or identity. They have bigger fish to fry.

You have the police report and your receipts and that's all you should need for your credit card companies.

Most of all... KEEP FIGHTING to get the fraudulent charges off your card!!! DO NOT give up!!!

I hate to hear about this sort of thing. There are a lot of regulations about doing business online but it is still a bit like the wild west out there. You have to watch your back. It is critical that you make sure you are dealing with legitimate businesses with secure websites and credit card processing.

Better yet, call them or visit their store.

this happens a lot, and first thing is to report it to your bank and companies and tell them that your credit card is stolen and being used.

secondly report it to the police.

to prevent this from happening again, is to get prepaid credit card just i'm doing right now, whenever i want to purchase something i put the exact amount in the credit card and make the payment.

and you get what you want safely

and make sure the sites and persons from the internet are trustful enough

Did anyone actually charge TC's account? Or is he just paranoid? He said he has no "proof".

Most fraudulent charges can get reversed immediately by CC companies.
