Duty to protect
I respect and support police. This video, however, shows some flaws in the system...and I hope that those on these forums agree that what happened on this video is the exception, not the rule.

I looked up a bunch of articles on this last night, other independent articles. It's pretty spot on.
The two officers that were through the door were transit police. The police officer in the car was off-duty, however had his gun. The transit officers did claim to break this up. It's all very well documented with witness' testifying as to what they saw the police officer not do.

I find it hard to believe that this incident happened just over two years ago and this is the first time some of us are hearing of it...

The stories were there.
http://abcnews.go.com/US/nyc-stabbin...ry?id=12910843 I can point to MANY more. It doesn't surprise me that other news can overpower a story like this. Example...right now we are hearing so much news about a guy in South Africa who may or may not have murdered his wife. He was famous there. So it's gossip. And, thus...more newsworthy than stories that probably are far more important. News these days sucks pretty bad...

NYC is going crazy with some of the laws they've been passing. Sure, most NYC cops will help you out... but they don't just magically appear the second you call. Hence why I have my carry permit.

Wow. Amazing. Im in law enforcment and I agree, there are flaws in the system. It also comes down to personal values and morals.
I can only speak for myself and say that I would have come blazing through that door. To say that is exactly what I would have done, I would like to think so.
