They're "ready" for the 1LE (I believe)...but will they take the "next step"?
Stay tuned... |

We're waiting on all the ZL1 hype to subside. We may also have to wait on the C7 Corvette the annoucement of it's new engine. You would think a Gen5 Camaro 1LE with a new engine might equal Z/28.

...depending on the specz of that-there new engine. Remember, near-two-tons needs TORQUE...not just revs...and retro'ing a new engine to an "old" car (near the end of its existance) may or may not make $en$e...

That should read "exZited"...
Fbod is NEVER "far" away...and that, my friend, you may "take to the bank"...it just won't "compute" on the deposit slip... |

I agree with those that say it won't happen this gen. You can't capture the essence of the original with the current format. The car is too heavy to work.
The z/28 was not held in sacred storage like the boss has been. They have run that name on every generation, even when the cars were anything but special. To me, GM proved they don't have the technology or desire to make a lighter car with the zl1. The current car is just a beast. They couldn't put the wizardry into a lower-price car to make it fast despite the weight like the zl1. I mean assume they do one, it weighs 3700lbs. They would need 500 hp and 305 tires to play with the boss. Can they do that for the price it would need to be? You would think that if they wanted to try a few things, they could have matched the SS weight. I love the zl1, and I think it will be a great car to battle the new gt500. The z/28 is something that will have to wait I think. The boss grabbed a little niche all alone for now. Hopefully the tech in the zl1 keeps the gt500 on its toes until both platforms go into a redesign, then we start over!
