Any reason not to cut off the mufflers and go straight pipe?I am planning on taking m

I have heard, seen all the cat backs, honestly I like the pure LS3 sound . . well as pure as it can be through the cats. I am gonna take my car in tomorrow and have these giant warts ( mufflers) removed from my car. Any reason why I should not do this? Should I get a cat back system instead? why? Thanks for your thoughts

I had mine taken off at like day 3 of taking mine off the lot. Local Muffler shop charged me $75 to cut off, and weld in new pipe, and replace my stock tips back on the new pipes.

Love the raw LS3 sound!!

It sounds ok if u do that but nothin beats the sound of Kooks 1-7/8" long tubes with cats mated to a Corsa cat-back exhaust system

When I installed the GMPP axle back recently, I started the engine after they cut the stock cans off. I honestly couldn't tell the difference. Keep in mind with the mufflers cut off the exits were under the car so that muffled the sound some. I previously would have thought a muffler delete would be too loud (for my tastes), but not anymore. The major sound killers in the stock system are the dual cats.

I think the jury is still out if a muffler delete hurts power.

Well, if you don't mind spending a bit of money, get a cat-back or axle or something. If you do mind spending a little bit of money, then spend the very little to get just ur mufflers off and tips welded back on with some more straight pipe.
