the brakes... the brakes in the GTO seem weak for 400HP; everything else i really like about the car. the trunk sucks you are right; it needs fold down seats but the interior is amazing. the seats and interior materials go together so perfectly, and you can change the head unit no problem.

Yeah, overall the GTO is a great car. They're very comfortable and come with an excellent interior and good sounding stereo. But the brakes do suck. And its also stuck riding on 235 series tires (18") or 245s (17'') on all four corners. That's one of the major complaints from owners (doesn't fit wider tires without cutting or modifying the car). And as you mentioned the trunk is tiny. And the GTO was never much of a looker or attention getter. But thats been part of its appeal (under the radar). |

I've had both as well as a CTS-V so I'll throw in some comparisons.
The interior of the GTO was very nice, but I feel equally comfortable in the Camaro and the radio in the Camaro sounds better in my opinion. The GTO interior did seem to be better quality items though. The GTO and the Camaro feel equally strong stock power wise. I feel much more comfortable in corners with the Camaro than the GTO as I have never ever driven a car like an LS2 GTO that wanted to swap ends faster than you can compensate for. The Camaro seems much more stable. I really wish with the almost 28 inch tall tires on the Camaro they had put in a 3.73 gear ratio. Styling wise the Camaro is easily twice the car as the GTO. The factory wheels on the Camaro are awesome compared to the flower petals they called wheels on the Goat. I really like the visibility with the RS headlights as well as I don't see very well at night, the HID lights are well worth the $$. There seemed to be more room for passengers in the rear seats in the GTO and they were more comfortable, but I don't plan on rear seat riders often (kids). The trunk on the Camaro is bigger and holds two sets of clubs, the GTO's was not big enough. Comparisons to the CTS-V (05 with LS6 not the LS2)..... The CTS-V feels quicker than both. It has 3.73 gears and short tires so I think it is the gear. The interior is good quality (still think the GTO was a bit better) and the 4 doors really make it easier to carry 4 people. I really like the classy styling of the CTS-V and in the Stealth Grey it is a SUPER sharp car. It handles a bit better than either of the 2 door sedans, but they are all very comparable. I think the instrument cluster looks a bit bland on the CTS-V and wish it had a sportier look and the radio should be touch screen. Cargo and rear space room is very good in the V. The BOSE radio in the CTS-V is the best of all three but the buttons do have a tendancy to wear. Styling wise, while I really like the looks of the V, most other people really have no idea what you are driving and it's potential, while the GTO at least got some looks, and the Camaro makes everyone look (and want to race you, for better or worse) |

Bryan...
The radio sounding better in the camaro is prob true... but I can replace mine in the GTO (which I did). HID's can be bought for $80 and with the GTO's stock projectors, it is a worth while upgrade And the flower petal wheels were bad, but the optional 18's eventually released are still awesome and Styling... I like not drawing the attention when I don't want it altho the cam did not help |

I did like being incognito with the GTO for sure, the Camaro draws a bit too much attention sometimes (everyone thinks they need to race it or rev their engine at you). I will say though I did not like the narrow tires which we were limited to with the body and how the rear end liked to jump out and would not hook up at the track. That was the main reason I got rid of mine or I would probably still have it. It was a IBM blue with blue interior and think was a super sharp car. I'm not a big audio guy so the radio did not matter, and I was unaware you could buy HID's for it, I really like them. Here's to fast fun cars while we can still buy them. I feel bad for my kids, they will be comparing which plug in car is better than the other while we are able to compare 400HP factory cars.... Bryan |

275's with proper wheels and a little fender grinding are no problem to fit in the rear, too bad that is about the limit.
My 255 Mickey ET Street radials have no problems hooking with the stall at the track, we will see how they like the cam + nitrous launch soon |

I forgot one other thing that I wish both the GTO and Camaro had.... Memory seats. They are in the CTS-V and since my wife and I are much different in height the memory seats are a godsend. I solved the problem by making the Camaro tough to get out of the garage, so she avoids driving it She likes the V better anyhow.
