How deep is your restoration? I have doen a few over the last couple years. I am currently doing a 72, a 78, a custom 80, and a 79 T/A for a guy in Florida.

What kind of info do you need? I am sure I can help, and for parts too.

Got a few days? I could tell you a crapload. My biggest advice - have more money than you think you'll need. Much more.....

i am currently doing my 81 and been doing it for a couple years. i aint done yet but ill lend any tips if you can use any. good places are nastyz28.com, 70-81.com, classic industries, summitracing.com and for some reason i can find alot of parts for our cars at junk yards. and as for the late second gens parts are not hard to find and they are pretty cheap. also check craigslist.com in your area. ebay is the shit also..

My wife has a 78 and I had always intended to restore it and have a matching set with my 2010 but time, money and a lack of a real garage to do it in I never did. She is now selling it. I hate to see it go but oh well.... I just told the guy when he is done with it i want him to send me some pictures of the finished project.

Stay away from those Navy women...finish the car before getting married.

Pull carpet/deadener and treat for rust. Vacuum out quarters and air vent areas and treat for rust. When you open the doors you'll see the black plastic vents, vacuum and treat for rust.
Underneath on the inner quarters near gas tank you'll see plugs, pull and vacuum out. RUST RUST- it's everywhere.

Trust me there is a lot of rust you can't see. Mine was media blasted and there were a lot of surprises for a new mexico/texas car.

Military - Keep all paperwork -never throw away anything. The military will lose it 10 yrs Navy RM2 now called IT. Do all the correspondence courses you can. Go to college and go warrant or officer. Currently 4yrs Active Duty Army National Guard as a Blackhawk mechanic/crewchief. Send me to Afghanistan - Easy money!
