^Hey, I've been there. I had a 2000 V6 and she was good to me. Like you, I had to have more. There's so little in additions for V6'ers that it is almost more cost efficient to sell off the V6 and get into a V8. I know...the sleeper fact. I wanted it too. But, just too much cash to do. I'd rather buy the Z28, pull off the badges, paint the roof the body color and call it a day. There ya have it...V6.

^ I remember in 1997 my mom & dad bought a new 97 Camaro. It was a V6 and I learned how to drive, using that. I remember my dad taking me to empty parking lots a bit after we had it when I was only 14 or so. Even then I remembered saying it was too slow.. lol... meh, but maybe it was because I grew up on 2 stroke dirt bikes. My Z28 is fast.. have flow masters, msd, cold air induction, ext ext. Still I'm hungry for more power :@

am I the only one whose parents and grandparents (well, actually just my grandmother on my Dad's side) took them to empty parking lots or wet parking lots and taught them to do donuts and power slides?

I started my Camaro up the other day and she wan idoling funny, so I checked the fluids, and sure enough, COOLANT IN THE OIL!!!! Yeah. I wish I bought an engine hoist. I would have been done by now if I pulled the motor out (or at least pulled it forward) before starting this project! Oh well, too far along to turn back now.
I dont know how I missed this part of this thread, but if you ever have any problems where you need tools or an engine crane, I have that kind of stuff for rent... I usually charge $40 to rent the engine crane for one week, so you'd have been done alot quicker

do you know about our local forums? www.afbforums.com that's the local Austin F-body forums that are also combined with the Austin Y-body forums... not the best place on the web, but we do some gtgs and stuff and there are alot of AFBers on there that like to do weekly gtgs

I was doing that on dirtbikes before I started driving cars lol. My dad doesn't like driving his Vettes hard, but he has a Camaro he toys around with doing that. Eventually after I got driving a car down we messed around with cones. That was years ago... lol

Possible near future Houston resident here!

Anybody got advice on bodycolour or sunroof considering the TX climate?
I love my current car colour = black, but Holland is a different climate.

Thanx.

Well during the summer it will be burning hot. For me, I won't let the climate change my mind. I want either a red or black. It just depends on the individual I guess, heat never bothers me. It would also depend on if it was going to be your "daily driver" or your "weekend car".

It doesn't get that hot during the summer. Last year, the temps got into the lower 90's all summer but never got above 100. A few years back, temps were consistently over 100. It has been really nice lately.

Now...if you are going to leave your car out in the sun all day long, it'll get hot as heck....and a lighter color sure wouldn't hurt. Plus, you really should use those sun shades in the dash. If you are parking it in a covered garage, don't worry about it. Look at my sig. I have a black SS and it's no problem really in the summer.

Texans get chance to redesign license plates in online vote

If Texans think their license plates are boring, they'll get a chance to do something about it starting Monday.

The Texas Department of Transportation is conducting a weeklong vote at www.txdot.gov that could decide whether Texans keep the current plate or choose one of four new designs.

The new plate will come out in 2009.

Whatever Texans choose, the new plates will add a seventh digit because the state is running out of six-digit combinations. That's according to Rebecca Davio, TxDOT's director of vehicles, title and registration.

By law, the Texas Transportation Commission must approve the state's general-issue plate. TxDOT officials believe commissioners will pick the plate that Texans endorse.

Yep!!! I can finally get that "A" in there so people don't look at me funny asking what "TG" means...lol.

We already have the 7 digit plates on our newest patrol cars and I'm thinking it's just a matter of time before they HAVE to go to 7 for everyone else.

Pretty sure I'll keep the current plates (adding an A) if nothing else REALLY strikes me. VERY COOL. Love the news.

And, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!! Sorry we couldn't make it up. I really hope ya'll had a blast!
