Here's something funny...
One of the dealers I didn't buy through contacted me today to let me know they got a vert in today. The funny thing about this is that this dealership was the one that tried telling me that a fully loaded vert would cost about $63K and he told me that they were getting 3 silver SS's during the week of January 10th (the original production week). I never called the dude back because he was full of it and didn't deserve any attention from me, but it's just funny to get that call today, a month and a half after he said they would have some in their showroom. I'm curious to see what their sticker price is on it now. I don't see how it could be in the 50's or 60's.

Dealer markup right there

Yeah they tried telling me (and this was about the first week in January), that every dealer is going to be about 10-15K above MSRP on this... which obviously was BS since I bought mine about a week later. They were definitely looking for a quick payday there from some sucker. Hopefully no one fell for it

I almost want to go there just to let them know that I spent my $43K elsewhere... and the sad thing on their part is that this was the closest dealership to me and I told them that. I told them I would rather buy right down the street then over in Scottsdale where I ended up buying.

Dealers determine the final retail price to their customers. While we encourage our dealers to sell their vehicles at or near the MSRP, they own the vehicles in their inventory and have the right to set their prices according to the current market demand. Unfortunately, under the franchise agreements it is illegal for General Motors to dictate dealer pricing.
