I keep it away from family(cousins), anytime I'm asked about it they start going on about how great the mustang is or how that their friend just got a luxury sedan...lol...I even try saying bad things about my car to please them but they're not having it. Also don't let people from your church, mosque or synagogue know, there are is a lot of behind the back talk to say the least....

I get the 'Oh it doesn't have all wheel drive, that's a bummer but its still nice' from charger owners. Others tell me you should've went with the challenger and the camaro is overrated.

Other than that, everything has been positive. Pulling up through drive throughs, get positive comments from fellow car enthusiasts and they congratulate me on the car.

No midlife crisis here...I bought my 1982 Z28 in 1986 when I was 19! I still have it almost 30 years later! For me...the Camaro is a life crisis! Forget the "mid" part! LOL Showing all 3 cars again tomorrow! All are clean and sweet
Nice collection! I've had a Camaro or Firebird in the fleet almost non stop since 1981, no mid life crisis nonsense, I just like F-bodies!

I wouldn't ever let anybody else's opinions run over me like that, or suck up to them in a (probably futile) attempt to defuse it. Never.

It's your car, by your decision, and they can just sit back down and live with it. AKA security in your own decisions.

Maybe even tell them there's a Mustang owner has your back here.

I've never had a negative comment, only positive, which is interesting since my car is a five-year-old design. Though I've only had it four months. But I currently live in a small town and know the social dynamics of living in a large metro area increase the chances of one encountering jerks who go out of their way to be as such.

I'm in my late twenties and I get the "are you having a quarter life crisis?" a lot.

But its not like that at all. I always wanted a car like this. And I worked very hard at school to get a job to be able to afford my car.

And its a good daily driver. Fun, practical, and down right economical when compared to other high performance cars.

People the world over love to talk down on anything that is different from there current interests. Seems most forget we are individuals and something they love might not be the same for the next person. My advice is to take that sort of negatively as a grain of salt. Do what you love not what fits the likes of other's

My mother is still calling mine a "mid-life crisis car" even though I've owned sports cars for the last 25 years or so, starting with a Firebird. I would reply with a comment about her Ford Taurus being a "near-end-of-life crisis car", but she's my Mom, so I have to let it slide.

The only questionable comment I've gotten was when I bought my first Camaro back in '14. A guy I work with asked, "why'd you get a Camaro? You don't like Fords?" I have nothing against Fords, I just like Camaros more.

Exactly. I've wanted to have something (anything) like an SS since even before I was in high school. But seeing that I started out working a part-time job making $50.00 a week, it was a lot of years before I could put a Camaro in the garage.

I had a family member say right to my face that people who buy muscle cars have small dicks.

I replied people who say that can't afford them.

I've been told they aren't as cool as the classics. I say that's why I have my 70 Chevelle.

That's when you whip it out and show him different. Unless you can't.

A few middle school kids who barely knew anything about cars saw my car and as they walk by, one kid said oh, it's only a V6. I would've said something but I held my tongue because I was outside my girlfriends house waiting for her and I didn't want to make a scene.

Here in Australia I get nothing but thumbs up in traffic and 50 questions if it's parked, I've never had a bad comment.

I don't think my mom would have appreciated that during our family Christmas party haha.
