Some may doubt this engines performance in the CTS, but with more aggressive gearing and the lighter weight of the camaro it will have that shock factor going for it.

I'm definately getting the V6 - hopefully something equivalent to the premium package for the V6 stang. I'm planning to you it as a date/sunday driver. As such, going to keep to exhaust/intake mods and exterior/appearance mods only. If I can get the beefier LLT to satisfy my performance desires (It doesn't necessarily have to be fast, just have a fun, seat of the pants feel - hell, my 86 IROC did 0-60 in more than 6 seconds and it was still a blast to drive! - something I can take turns fast from stoplights in and feel my stomach pound against my spine) all the better, but I'd settle for a simple LY7.

I put 3,000 hwy miles a year on my personal vehicle. I'm gonna be that grey haired 50 year old man in the convert. Z28. Maybe I can drive it till I'm 70 and get my money back out of it. Anyone wanna buy it in 2030? One owner lo-miles driven by an old man to church and back on sunday.
That torque curve is amazing, just off idle to...7 grand??? That thing don't need a six speed trans.

Did you get a look at that chart that was posted after you wrote that?

Thank you for that! I am really going to love driving that V6 then...I"m all about low-end torque, and that engine delivers!

Its in the Impala SS and Buick LaCrosse Super. You're right, it makes a great noise and has plenty of tourqe. But IMO, with the technology out now and the size of the engine, 300hp is pretty under powered. If they used VVT and DI on that boy (Gen V), look out! It would be a screamer.

i dont know which way i am going to go... ive ALWAYS wanted a V8. just the sound of the engine gives me an adrenaline rush, and i wouldnt be exaggerating when id claim to have almost bought a V8 Mustang a few years back.

BUT. gas is only going up.

and i plan on having this car a long time.

so i dont know. but the performance of the V6 is reasurring, but not a deal sealer for me just because it will never have the feel of a V8. And to me, that means it would never have the feeling of a Camaro.

This will be my last car for a while and with gas prices going up, I can only hope it's what everybody is looking for! From the specs, it looks right on point!

Im getting a v6 because the 300 hp will do just fine and with gas prices sky rocketing the v6 will pretty good MPG compared to the camaros competion.

Welcome to the site Ronin7!

We're still waiting for the official options, spec and numbers. But, we pretty much agree with you. Looking good so far.

Since that is soooo unlikely id rather buy a used 2005 Mustang GT for 4k less than 20k and drop a supercharger on it. Thats my plan B though, Plan A is the camaro with a chevy small block V8.

At 27 marrried no kids, insurance and payments isnt a big deal for me (hell full coverage insurance on a motorcycle would cost me $20.00 a month, and my ram costs me $60.00 a month)
I'm definitely getting a fully loaded V8 at the time it is released, even if gas is $10.00 a gallon. I simply won't be driving it as much if that is the case, and you'll be sure to see a hybrid camaro for sale shortly afterwards if gas hits $10 a gallon if the camaro wants to stay alive. I for one see this as my last chance to buy a gas-guzzling and powerful V8 in my lifetime since I plan to keep this car for 10 years at least. And I'm quite sure V8's will be gone in 10 years (at least how we remember them) by the way the environmentalists seem to be having their way making law's. In the future a sports car must get at least 50mpg...etc.. goodbye V8... (hybrid V8?..lol)

For those of you considering a V6, I can fully understand if it is price alone that will influence your choice.. You'll probably save $500 a years on gas getting the V6, and pay a little less on car insurance as well.. Monthly car payments will be lower obviously as well.. Obviously if the car is rates at 300HP, it will not be slow by any means. However for those wanting more torque like me, the V8 is the only choice.
