You would be smart to contact directly the companies whose converters you are considering. After speaking with them all, the decision to go with Circle D was easy for me. You usually get a feeling from these enquiries and Chris gave me the "right" feeling at the time. I couldn't be happier with the product.

Like everyone is saying. Call Chris at Circle D and he will gladly explain some if the benefits of choosing Circle D vs other converters. Yanks are also good, from what I've seen they tend to not flash quite as high based on their stall rating.
I've got a 3600 Circle D and I have the quickest 60ft record in the Bolt On only class. 1.53! They flat out hit HARD off the line! Drives good too. |

You won't find many PI converters on this forum. There are no vendors here plugging them and they have no presence here themselves.
The circle D's tend to hit harder and the yank might be more efficient. Also, a triple disc converter is going to be easier to tune than a single disc. I spent an awful lot of time in my old SS getting the 3600 yank to lock and unlock at the right times. Easy, just time consuming. You'll be fine with either, but all the cool kids are running circle D's right now. |

The E line of the CDS converters are more efficient than the C, but they don't hit as hard.
One thing to keep in mind with the converter is that 60 ft isn't everything. You have 1260 ft left to race after that first 60...lol. You need a converter that's going to get it done down track too. |

IMO, if u want your car to run right at the track, you want your tuner to pick two things for sure, cam and converter.
And for the record, I have trusted wrongly before too...aka pro torque converter. Lol

This is looking like a no-brainer. Thanks for all of the good input. I stand by my point about how mods can be subjective, and popular doesn't always equal best, but OTOH customer testimonials (and fast lists) speak volumes. Circle D it is. Regarding stall speed slection, and I'll talk more with Chris on this subject; I'm not seeing anything on the site that describes a "1e" converter. I see, when I select the stall speed for a single or Multi-disk, only 1C 2C...etc. I assume you all are talking about the 245 mm converter, but what does the "e" indicate? And back in 1998, there wasn't, as far as I can remember, such a thing as a Multi-disk setup. I understand that a multi is easier to tune, but it's also got a bigger price tag. Are there other advantages of a multi vs single? Which one has better street manners, if that even comes into play?

I'll data log my car tomorrow. We'll see what I flash with my 3600 Yank. First time at the track with it since the converter and cam.

I have a Circle D 3200, and it's a great converter. I've had PI and Yank stuff in the past in 4th gens, and the Yanks stuff did good for me then. PI, not so much.

I had a Vigilante as well with my 4th gen and while it was fantastic at WOT it sucked at part throttle. With this car I didn't want it to act like that so I went with a Yank. Well, the Yank is a great DD converter under part throttle but not so great at the track and WOT. If I had it to do over again I would pick a Circle D or FTI triple disk 3200-3600. You should put FTI as another great converter to look at. The FTI in my friends C6 is awesome. Drives stock at part throttle but hits super hard and has great flash speed at WOT.
