Offering you 26k with only 10k on the ticker with 2ss. They will probably list it at 30-31 and settle for a high 29 if they get haggled. If it were me I would ask mid 28k and take mid 27k. Just my opinion though. they still have to make money. My best friends dad owns 3 dealer ships and iv sold a few cars as an actual salesman. so I know some stuff. and like the guy above me said, dont listen to the monthly payment bs. thats just to rack up interest on the car. iv seen people settle on a monthly payment and the markup end up being 9k with that monthly payment.

and I doubt he has a buyer for your car.. he just wants to lowball you and put you in a car on his lot to get his numbers up..
If he is calling you he is hurting during a slow month.. be ready to walk and make him shed tears of blood before you make a deal..

+1

How bad do you want to be rid of the car?

I don't think 26,300 is out of line.

A local dealer here has a 2012 with 10k, 2ss rs auto, for 29,995.

I have never been called to trade my Camaro but I get called every few months about trading my Silverado. Neither vehicle is paid off yet and I have no desire to trade either or go upside down on a trade. To the OP if your looking to sell its not a terrible offer IMO.

if your buying another car from the same dealer I'd push for more. they're usually willing to pay more if they're making some money off you on the sale of a new one.

It all depends on how much they want for the new vehicle. They will make you feel good about the trade value but trust me, they are making it up on the other side of the transaction. You have to look at both pieces for sure. Good luck!

I am not buying a new car, I am selling it to them for cash. I've already sold my 2006 Vette and wish to sell the Camaro for future purchase of a new Stingray. If I accept their offer of $26,300, I will have approx. 56k for the Stingray. I believe cash is king and do not wish to take out a loan, so I still need approx. 10k.

you negotiate them separately, and the trade in after settling on a price on the new one.

12K for a 2LT??????!!!! That is freaking INSANE. You should at the very least get 17-18, maybe more if it's an RS and has lower miles. I don't care if the refresh is coming out at the end of the month, the prices aren't gonna dip THAT low on a 3-4 year old vehicle.

That is a fair offer for a 'buy off the street', depending on your local market value. Generally, when you are selling instead of trading, there isn't much room for negotiation. You will likely receive an offer near auction value, or 'black book' value for your vehicle, perhaps a little more if it is something special like a 'mint' Camaro, market temperature permitting. If the dealer estimates it will go through the shop clean, and they are confident they can sell it, and not have to wholesale it in 90 days, they may offer a bit more.

Could you keep the ss until the '14s are available and trade it at that time? Or will they give you a bit better deal if you put a deposit down on a C7?

This particular dealer is going to add markup to MSRP and I refuse to pay over sticker for C7.
