Dyno number seem too high. Anyone got the reason.

I excited about the numbers but wonder how realistic compared to others. Guess real results will be at track.

How many dyno runs did you have?? It does seem pretty high unless you have forced induction, but could be a factory freak..

While it is nice to see the huge peak number, those graphs are not correct. One seems to have serious problems (peaks & Valleys ) the second graph STarts out on a huge spike causing your 423 peak number. It looks to me like the real peak numbers are 345 and 355 for a 10hp difference.

Four runs, AFM deleted, shift points recalibrated, plus was running 25% lean at start, and I don't know exactly what else Ed did, but he has been doing this along time.

Most dyno runs here on the forum start near 3500 rpm and show a natural build to peak. These are near 4800 from the get go. Not sure why and you can never use spikes to brag on. I see yours is an automatic tranny. I agree with Ragin Racin above about 355 rwhp for your A-6 which is about normal from what I have seen.

First one the peaks and valleys where the shift points, and the second graph was specifically torque. When the Bat shifts, it shifts hard, she will light the tires up. I'm really impressed with the way she runs now. Numbers might be high, but seems like it made a bigger difference than 10HP. Guess the track will really be the tell tell. I guess I should ask Ed why the difference between the looks of the Dyno's.

That's exactly the reason I posted this, I noticed most don't have the peaks and valleys like mine and the charts seem to a little different also. I am not real familar with the dyno's. So how do you show a natural build to peak. I was there during first run and second run, but left during the rest. It seems to me that he just romped on it and let it progress through the gears. Also seems like everyone else uses the top of their spike even though it was a gradual build. Do you just wait until sixth gear to get on it? If you do that, curious how you would adjust shift points?

There is something seriously wrong with that dyno. The HP/TQ lines should look like this.

It is very possible that the dyno settings may not have been correct. I.E. number of cylinders, diesel vs. gas, etc...

When I dynoe'd my CSRT last year the first run I laid down 154HP and 685TQ. Dyno operator made a few adjustments and corrected the readings.

I can't believe a tuner would even give a customer those dyno sheets...more questions than answers in those...JMO.

I have to agree that the graph is all messed up.

If you look at the average (smooth out all the peaks and valleys) you're making around 350 rwhp (which is about right).

I've been seeing anywhere from 345 - 375 rwhp depending on the dyno for an L99 with intake and long tube headers.

And as you mentioned, the track will show you how your car is running.

I've seen 345 rwhp cars beat 375 rwhp cars at the track (both L99s). So dyno numbers don't mean much to me unless they're done on the same dyno.

One of the basic problems is that you shouldn't be shifting during a dyno. I mean you can if you are correcting the curve for the change in ratio in each gear, and that might be happening here since if you extrapolate the lines through the peaks and ignore the peaks you get a fairly typical A6 plot, but you truly do have to ignore the peaks if you're shifting in the middle of a dyno pull. Looking at the two plots and ignoring peaks, you're true peak is about 355 RWHP and you've gained about 12-13 RWHP over your baseline at peak. You gain more than that at lower points in the curve though. Those are typical gains for a tune.

Your car makes 360hp/340tq going by the graphs. The first run is a pull on 1st/2nd/3rd and you see spikes at the shift points. The 2nd graph is a torque converter flash at the beggining.

Pretty simple to see,you can't go by the spike figures which are showing the high (bogus) numbers.
