Cruise routes in so cal

So I got a buddy in town and we want to get some of the old friends together and go for a cruise for a couple hours. I don't want to go on the same routes we have done a hundred times.

So who has some good routes maybe a couple hours with a destination?

Anything on PCH from Santa Monica to Malibu. Or any drive down to San Diego especially in the daytime with a nice breeze out..

Why don't we start off with where you've been before.

There's a lot of canyon roads coming off of PCH. Topanga Canyon Road is good but there can be a ton of traffic on it since it's the fastest way from the beach to Woodland Hills.

Mulholland Highway is a very nice and long option, probably the best option.
Angeles Forest/Crest Highway is an option too. EDIT: Angeles Forest/Crest Hwy is STILL closed b/c of the station fire.

Little Tujunga Canyon Road is nice too. 18 miles of pretty good twisties.

I did one in Malibu I didn't like. I think it was Decker Canyon Rd. It was just really, really tight and the Camaro is just too big for that kind of road. Didnt help that there was some douches in a RX8 and a S2K riding my ass the whole time.

Take 15 south to Temecula.

Hit 79 east. Make a left at S2, and then another left at Montezuma Valley Road

Follow MVR to Borrego Springs. You can stop here for Lunch, there are several cafe's. Once you hit Borrego Springs, get on S22 and follow out to The Salton Sea. Or you can get on S3 which takes you to 78.

If you really want to get crazy, S22 will run into 86 once you hit the Salton Sea. Take 86 south till you get to 78. Take 78 through Brawley and on out to the Imperial Sand Dunes. This is arguably one of Southern California's coolest geological features.

This is essentially an all day trip, so get an early start.
