Catch can hooked up wrong???
Hi all,
So, I went to drain my catch can after around 3,000 miles in a year. And.... to my supprise.......nothing. Not a drop! I have a line coming from the back drivers side valve cover to the can, then a line from can to under the throttle body. Am I missing something here? Help please.....

Link to "Search for L99 catch can hook-up" doesn't link back to thread. You'll have to do it on your own.

I wish I could be more help. I have a 2015 L99 and the pcv is on the -Passenger- side of the engine. I don't have a catch can but that's where I spliced the line for the CAI.

I hooked it up per the instructions. I don't know. Weird how there is NO oil in it.

I don't rag on it. But, I do drive spirited when I do drive it. I only put about 2,500 miles on it in a year.

On your drain open the valve, if there is vacume when you put your finger on it, it is hooked up correctly, if not you have it hooked up wrong, if I remember correctly

The way mine is hooked up is,
there is a valve cover nipple on the passenger side valve cover towards the front of the car sort of near the oil fill cap it comes out a bit sideways. that line goes to my Catch can and a line from my catch can goes to the nipple feed on the intake manifold. The fitting on the driver side rear i have hooked up to a breather filter separately. This is how i was instructed by Mighty Mouse to run it since L99 does not have a breather pipe coming from the Intake valley plate, under the intake manifold. This has worked for me i see a sight glass and can see oil. |
