Possible caliper damage? Need help

Hey guys,

I have a 2015 v6 convertible. I was changing brake pads and noticed the piston of my caliper wasn't pushed out. Typically it is pushed out and you have to push it in to take out the pads or to put the caliper back on.

Is this a problem? The only reason I'm changing my pads is because of a intermittent running noise form the front driver wheel. And I think it's my pads (aren't OEM)

Maybe some debris is blocking the port on the caliper.
However if that were the case, you would most likely get stabilitrac codes and the car would pull to one side when braking

So I decided to change out the brake pads. So turns out guys my caliper does work.. but I guess it doesn't automatically gets pushed out all the way. I noticed how it's out by only 5mm or so bevaue my pads were still in good condition. I tested to make sure piston works by pressuring on brakes with caliper resting on a hanger and piston did come out.
