Dealer jacked up my Lambo doors. So pissed!!

OMG so EFFING mad. Dropped my car off for oil, tranny fluid change and the steering assist recall. Picking it up and from 20ft away I see they totally jacked up my Vertical Hinges Inc Lambo doors. Passenger side is so buckled in at the bottom it is hitting the fender. The driver side is the same way but not hitting. I have had them in the car for 2+ years. I gave the rep a class in how to operate them and to make it "idiot proof" I make signs and tape them to both windows. I wonder what it takes to make them "Chevy technician proof"!! Called Vertical, they are going to try and fit me in tomorrow or Thursday morning. I was getting the service because we were heading out of town on Thursday, guess we're taking the Challenger if I can't get it checked before. So so so mad!!

Wish it didnt happen at all, but on the bright side by the photos it looks easily adjustable and doesnt appear to have dented the fenders.

Hope they work with you and get it back fully functional! I had the same worries back when I had my 2010 with them. Not doing them again just because of the stress of others lol! Best of luck!!

Known failure point for the Camaro’s. They don’t hoist the cars on the pinch welds like they’re supposed to! I had the same thing happen to my fenders. Took the car back to the dealer, took me in right away and got the fender flushed with the body lines again They really need to teach the techs where out lift points are >:/

Yup you nailed it. They lifted it from the wrong spot. Thats the reason my zl1 will never see a Chevy dealership unless for warranty work. I will be that guy that goes in the garage to check on them. Also if a test drive is needed i am going.

I know a lot of people hate on lambo doors but I think their awesome, and a future upgrade I am looking at getting. This worried me a little bit. Can somebody easily mess these up? If somebody tries to open my door to far without realizing will they break or something?

As long as you get the vertical doors inc brand they are VERY strong and durable on the hinge itself. The only true worry you would have is bending or denting the fender. Or knocking it out of alignment.

As my post above I enjoyed them the time I had them, and definently a show stopper at car shows and events, also allows the car to look normal while closed so, it's all up to the taste of the owner.

Purely on a review of the product itself, if you want them, they are very durable.

thanks all. These are vertical door Inc hinges and Actually had them installed by vertical door themselves as they are close to me in Lake Elsinore. I will definitely look further at the lift points to make sure that isn't what did it but it doesn't look like the fenders are bowed in. More that the bottom of the doors are pulled in like whoever had the door open pushed in rather than down and in.
Even with all their design I don't really see a way and I'm sure they are diligently looking for a way to put a limiter in it or something to where you can't open it too far but the way it works is you can open your door to the first notch like you are in a tight parking spot. From there it goes straight up. Same thing when you close the door you pull it from the door handle straight down and then in. The saddest part is I put big messages written in red and black on both doors and gave a class on how to open the close them to the service rep as well as the kid who drove it over to the mechanic. I was then told it was going to be a couple of hours and I could go if I wanted. Even sadder than that it's whoever jacked it all up just pulled it up and parked it and didn't say a word. There's no way I wouldn't have found it right away much less not say anything.

Thanks for you're absolutely useless and annoying reply Appleman22. if you read everyone else's reply they seem to be real car people who had input and understanding. I looked through your profile at the thread you've posted and from what I can tell you're a lot of talk but not a lot of action. I'll tell you what when you start customizing and doing your own work to your own car and making it yours you can come and talk to me about my car and what I've chosen to do to it. Being a car enthusiast is about a relationship with you and your machine as well as respecting someone else's relationship with their machine. This may be a lesson you might learn if you start doing some customization to it yourself rather than just asking a bunch of questions and running around in circles. You may think this is harsh or I'm slamming you when in all reality I'm not. Take a look at all of the other replies and you might get a look at what real car people are and what it means to be a part of a community.

Thank you and have a good day.

That is good to hear. I don't think I should have to worry about bending the fenders? I have never had that happen to any of vehicle me or my family has ever owned so it seems odd to me. Would that not effect the look of the regular door anyway? Why just the Lambo doors?
