I was in St. Louis and heard the low rumble of radial engines and a B-17 came into view followed by a Henkel 111 and Ford tri motor from the 1930's. I didn't know till later these planes were in the area on their way to an air show but had a lay over in St. Louis area. Big unexpected surprise.

That's a nice surprise. I spotted a B-17 unexpectedly like that once in Port Angeles, WA. A Heinkel; Wow! Now that's rare! I think the CAF's is the only one flying. (Or used to be.) I got to fly in a Tri-Motor when I was a kid. Awesome experience! (Thanks Dad, wherever you are!)

You took the words right out of my pants.

As soon as it blasted across the screen I thought "Oh Fu...!! I would have filled my shorts!"
I'd have been grinning ear to ear as I waddled to the bathroom to clean up.

The third one? They'd be calling for a crash cart. I'd have had a heart attack.

While not a classic, yet, the A10 is probably my favorite plane.
A10 Design spec: Build a plane around a GAU-8 Avenger rotary canon

Coolest sound in the air (turn up the volume):

And, just to follow along with the above posts, a low flyover (it was at take off but it still counts). Those turbofans sound cool too:

It went down in 2003 after engine failure on approach to Cheyenne Wyoming. One of my coworkers was one of the pilots.:( Plane had an interesting history. It was Spanish Built and was a personal plane of Dictator Franco. Pretty sure there is a nother one being restored somewhere.

A little Water or is that RedBull under the Bridge

and around the Tower.

and behind the scenes of arguably the most famous flyby.

But it could be this one:

Goodnight.
