V6 M6 rough shifting into 2nd
Is it just me or is it rough going from 1st to 2nd? I don't mean the gears grind it is just rougher than all the other gears. Anyone else agree?

Is this after a cold start or just in general?

In general, doesn't matter if car is cold or warm. It is annoying because sometimes it shifts smoothly but usually it is rough, like you are just learning to drive a manual trans. And no matter how you try to feather the clutch/accelerator it can still be rough/jerky.

My wife says the same thing (her car). Says 1st to 2nd she has to get the rpm's just right or it's jerky. Same has happened to me, when I drove it a couple times.

I've been driving mine for almost a year now and the car will still jerk a bit if I'm not paying attention when I shift from first to second. It can be tricky for some reason but its no big deal.

Yeah I find getting the revs up works the best.

The first 1LS I ever test drove (a new 2011) didn't want to go into any gears without being manhandled. And that was in Summer.

Sounds like alot of us are experiencing this, glad it doesn't seem to create any tranny/clutch problems. |

My LS (2012) was the same way. Felt like I didn't know how to drive manual sometimes. Surprisingly my SS is much smoother. I was expecting the same feel between the 2 but not the case at all!
