2 things I discovered about my Camaro

I know that several of you already know this so don't flame me. But I either didn't know or I forgot. I can't remember which. I figure there are others out there that don't know or forgot too. So this is my public service announcement.

I was messing with my trip computer (DIC) and hit the menu button and it brought up the screen to choose either US or metric. No big deal. I'd seen it before and had thought, "what a useless screen. Why have a menu button just for that one screen?" Then it occurred to me. I toggled through the screens and saw, for the first time, that there are other information screens in addition to the ones for trip information.

i'm used to toggling through the screens for speed, trip miles, avg. speed, fuel range, Avg. MPG, navigation, etc. However, by clicking on the menu button, you also get screens for:

tire pressure - each tire separately
oil life
coolant temperature
speed warning - (you can choose on or off)

I just thought this was cool and I felt stupid for not discovering it sooner. So I'm passing on the info to help others avoid similar embarassment.

Also, someone had previously posted on here asking about the heated seats coming on automatically with remote start and whether it actually worked. I saw in some literature I was reading that the heated seats are supposed to come on automatically with the remote start if the ambient air temperature drops below a cerrtain level. It didn't say how cold it had to get. Who knows if it actually works. Its not cold enough here to find out.

its not embarrassing its actually pretty cool to be able to still be finding new things about your car

and yes the question of how cold it has to be for the seats to come on is a ongoing question

Call me uninformed, but I had never heard of ambient lighting so imagine my surprise after taking delivery(3 weeks ago) of my 2SS, and leaving work at midnight, going down the highway, trying to figure out what the hell that blue light above the door panels was. I thought it was reflection or my imagination. The next night to be sure I wasn't seeing things, I had the wife come out and verify that those blue lines were in fact lighting. Had to search this forum to find out what it was called. I don't even know if my salesman knows about this. I love it and show it off to anyone who looks at the car.

Thank God. Somebody finally noticed. I've had that challenge up there for months and not one challenge. Thank you.

If you have Remote Start you must configure the Heated Seats to turn-on automatically - see Owner's Manual page 4-38
