Looks like a coat hanger sprayed with red paint. What's it for?

Don't like the color...should be chrome or black...I would lace it with bungee cords in case the blower breaks loose on you.

I think its a hi-tech/centrifugal/kinetic shield of some sort...note how the heavier port side bracing ties in with the rotation of the blower...its not all that sophisticated, really. Don't think its as heavy duty as a lawn-mower part.
