I'll try to get some up this week. But just lay on ur back with ur head under the dash and look towards the top of the clutch pedal assembly, you will see the spring I am refering to.

Clutch Pedal Return Spring Removal

So if you are unhappy with the clutch pedal feel I would suggest removing the clutch pedal return spring. After removing this spring the force to depress the clutch is more linear. I got the idea from corvette guys that were doing it and personally I like the clutch much better with out the spring.

Ok, here's the procedure.

Tools required: None or a screwdriver to make it easier.

Step 1: pop out clutch spring by hand or with screwdriver. It is located at the top of the clutch pedal assembly under the dash.

Step 2: Drink a beer (optional)

Step 3: Drive your car and enjoy the new clutch feel.

Good to know. I will keep this in mind if I don't like the clutch feeling when I pick up my car tomorrow. I have gotten so used to the clutch in my RX-8 over the last 5 years or so and it engages pretty close to the floor.

I've noticed this one mine, and even stalled the car a few times on a hill. It's that damn spring- I'll have to drink a beer tonight.

Let me know what you think, and don't drink to many before the test drive!

I noticed on the 1st to 2nd shift the clutch can be grabby (maybe not enought momentum in the flywheel at those speeds) and this makes the car a bit jumpy, also driving in dress shoes blows, so I bought a pair of driving shoes and they kick a$$ that helped out too. They stop 'making fun' for that once they go for a ride.....

This clutch for me has pretty much the same feel that my 1999 WS6 TransAm had so it was very easy for me to pick up. I can drive the little S10 clutch for crap though, lol!

I took out the spring a few months ago after reading this post and have to say it is definately easier to push and doesn't have as much of the rubber band feeling it once did. I still find my '95 much easier to drive, but I've got 30,000 miles on that one as compared to 600 or so on the new car, so I may not be used to it just yet. No regrets on removing the spring at all...

Well I am definitely going to remove the spring tomorrow. Ill post back with my impression.

Coolcamaro- I think you hit it on the spot, its that rubberband feeling I cant stand so hopefully it will make it better, if not I guess ill just get used to it.

Thanks
