What the FFourrrrrth??
Holy crap! The manual on the standard transmission tells me if I see the "1st to 4th" symbol I MUST shift directly to 4th...If I try 2 or 3 I risk damaging the tranny??What kinda crap is this? If I shift to 4th, the enging is way to close to lugging for my liking.....
I just want to shift like I always have, gears in order.. Any comments??? |

If I'm driving casually I just put it in neutral for a second then go to 2nd or else keep it in first a bit longer. Every time I'm under the car I manage to forget to put the skip shift in.

Synner... DOOOO IT!!
A word of caution... make sure you plug the SSE in the right jumper. If you get under there and go "oh here it is right here"... you will plug it into the reverse lock out and wont beable to get the car in reverse. Its more up on top of the tranny... passenger side I think. Still accessible but not as obvious as the reverse lockout. Just saving you some head aches and having to post another thead! OP... get a SSE and be done with it. Its annoying. I had one on all my LS/M6 cars... |

I bought the skip shift but haven't installed it yet. I've since learned that when the 1-4 message appears, just move the shifter over to the right past neutral as if you're going to 4th, but then go right to 2nd.

No kidding, I will try that. I plan on getting a resistor from Radio Shack and making my own eliminator. |

Probably going to get flamed for this - but I just go to 3rd lol. I rarely get it to happen anyway.

Its probably reading you as going into neutral first and therefore its allowing it. Just like I do 1st-neutral-2nd.
