Yes there was an update but I've heard mixed answers as to whether it 100% addressed the problem.

The issue was with the 07-08 and early 09 LS7s.

To my knowledge it has been corrected and no further head issues have arisen. But we have a 2013 Corvette 427 with the LS7 so the head issue has been monitored ever since we bought the car in 2012.

06' had the two piece Valves also that had the issue. 09' is when GM revised the valves, BUT I read were they also were having issues.
07 had another issue on top of the valve issue but I can't remember what it was as I didn't own an 07' and didn't worry about it.
I could have had the heads rebuilt and not have to worry but felt it was best to get away from it all together as they are a $15,000 engine.
I made my decision before GM admitted the issues with the heads.
My thought was this, who would pay $50-60 thousand for a known $15,000 engine that likely would blow?
I sold my Z for more than I paid for it.

There are issues with 2010-2013 LS7 heads as well. No official fix. Just go on corvetteforum.com and see for yourself.
