A supercharged LS3 will be even better , and will most certainly be in the NEW Z28 , it will draw on it's heritage which had a V8 only this time it will be a BLOWN V8 , LSA similar to the one in the Cadillac CTS-V with 550 to 600HP , a track package will be added, the Z28 will go on a diet to reduce weight possible carbon fiber components like the ZR1 to achieve this , better brakes , and of course a improved suspension for better handling , I'm starting to drool

What they need to do is not put a giant V8 in it, but like some people are saying, a TT V6 or I6. What that'll do is dramatically reduce weight. After that, put the car on a diet, take out the radio and back seats, up the brakes/suspension, and sell it. The only problem I have is price. Since the car has less stuff, you would think it would cost less, but they'll sell it for more. They need to sell it for the same price or less than the highest priced V6 model.

Just food for thought-a turbo v-6 is cappable of being fast but it will also have a lower potential hp after mods because it will already be strained to put out the 500+hp everyone wants it to have. Just sayin...

hmm since everyone seems to be throwing out what they think the Z will be. . .who's to say it won't be a refreshed SS with a DI V-8 smaller then the LS3 but putting down 450-500 hp. but all I'm saying is do the name justice and I'll buy one.
it will be a V-8 race tuned suspension. lol |

Possible but I'm stickin with the blown V8 theory , all the other top dogz GM has the Cadillac CTS-V and Corvette ZR1 are using it ( LSA) so why not the Z28 eh? although it's possible GM will use a DI V-8 Supercharged WOW that would be sweet |

ok this video pisses me off. i wish GM would give a straight answer. I have my deposit down on my 2SS, and im going to have to sign my life away to the bank for that car. If there is going to be a V8 SS coming out i would like to know so that i can wait for it, if not im going to buy this model. i would be choked if i bought it and a few months later hearing about a z28 model coming out.

Well the main reason I'm thinking the di v8 is that's the direction gm seems to be going with their engines. And then u look at what the original Z was. And due to cafe I personally don't see the lsa or ls9 in the camaro and the ls7 is on it's way out the door. So yea. Gen V motor seems logical if they keep the v8 setup for a Z28. Just think about it cafe is going to kill most of those engines. Which sucks because they're beautiful engines. But oh well. Only time can tell. |
