The know-it-all is strong in this thread.

I wear my seat belt. I agree that saying you knew someone who was killed by a seat belt (or lived without wearing one) is like saying smoking is not bad for you because you knew someone who smoked and lived until 100. Wearing a seat belt is about common sense risk mitigation.

That said, what a bunch of condescending smucks in this thread. No one cares that you think I should wear my seat belt. If you know how to turn off the annoying Government mandated nanny, just spill it. Otherwise, spare us the 103rd post (in this thread alone) that lectures the readers or otherwise crassly attempts to be clever and condones the deaths of those who choose not to wear it.

Do you mind scanning in that document? We would like to know. The method I posted here wasn't the safest way to go. If there is a better way I'd like to know.

Edit: I looked it up in the manual. It does not say how to disable it. Only how to stop the chime in the passenger seat if you have a briefcase or something on the seat, and the solution for that was to remove it or buckle it in.

Perhaps some engineer from GM could chime in please with a method to disable it?
