Well an LT with 18" aluminums wheels is the lightest camaro in the lineup at 3741 lbs with the aisin. The CTS 2WD weighs 3861 with the same tranny. So we're only talking about 120 lbs here, folks. Different, yes, but not as much difference as the above post.

The V6 camaro might be able to break 6.0 seconds with the manual but not the auto. But neither will beat a Mustang GT for the TQ reason. You don't race with HP you race with TQ.
Nope. C&D lists 5.8 seconds as a manual RWD CTS. the article is here:

Some other interesting notes: The 1/4 mile is still mid 14s. and somehow, after getting a 5.8s 0-60, they got a 5-60 of 6.6 ... um, what? Kind of throws all the stats into question.

Length: 191.6 in
Width: 72.5 in

That's true. I wasn't thinking about the 18" aluminum wheels. Ok so not as much as difference in weight as I originally thought.

Yeah, it's strange how even though it does 0-60 in 5.8 yet still does the quarter in 14.6. Probably has something to do with the gear ratios? Are they maybe taller/higher in like 3rd through 6th?

Well ok. This does sorta clear things up and can give us a more narrow range to estimate what the V6 Camaro will do 0-60 in.

My final guess is that it will do 0-60 somewhere between 5.7-5.9 right out of the factory. Which is pretty good still. The quarter though until we find out more about the gear ratios and what not I'm going to think we're looking at around 14.0-14.5 So I'm just going to sit with that as my prediction until the 5th gens get launched and then once C&D gets their hands on the V6 Camaro or any other mag we'll def see.

CTS = (according to C&D)

1st: 4.15 17.22
2nd:2.33 9.67
3rd:1.53 6.35
4th:1.15 4.77
5th:1.00 4.15
6th:0.79 2.04

Final drive:4.15 (wow that's deep)

Camaro LS/LT: (according to chevrolet.com/camaro)

1st:4.48 14.65
2nd:2.58 8.44
3rd:1.63 5.33
4th:1.19 3.89
5th:1.00 3.27
6th:0.75 2.45

Final Drive:3.27

Here's a little comparison I put together. Looks like the CTS has deeper overall gearing except for top gear. The weight factor is hard for me to guesstimate, but it looks like the two cars will be pretty close in 0-60 and 14 mile times.

Edit: The second number is overall ratio from flywheel to rear axle, I computed it for everyone's benefit using MS calculator, yay!
