What is a good first car?
My dream car is a camaro but I'm barely 15 so I guess I'll have to wait a while till I can get a nice car so I'm asking the people that have nice tastes in cars which car I should get as my first one?
Here are the things that I guess fits in my range : - Under 10k - Badass like a camaro :] - No girl looking car.. Idk if that made sense but yeah.. - Fast and good gas thingy? :o No trucks, vans, stuff like that. Most likely a sports car that is good looking. Thanks! |

Used Cobalt SS. Just get rid of the spoiler so you don't look like a ricer burner. The Ecotech Cobalt SSs will run high 13s in the quarter mile.

Not sure if you're into imports, but the Acura RSX-S is a good car.

I'd say Cobalt as well.

If you really want a camaro then get a camaro. It doesn't have to be a 5th Gen. get an older one (be cheaper on your insurance) take your time and restor it. I've seen soome cheep 92-94 camaro's dirt cheap and have been fixed up like new over time. Then when you can get a new one, you'll have two. Nothing like fixing up a car on your own.

If you are not too concerned about gas, I'm sure you could find a 4th gen LS1 Camaro or Firebird for that. Cobalt SS or Neon SRT4 if you are into FWD turbos, though I'd question the Neon's reliablity, and you would proabably be hard pressed to find a turbo Cobalt SS on a $10K budget.
I'll get flamed for this by someone, but you can probably do a lot with a Miata for $10k. I know that probably violates your "girl car" criteria, but they are actually serious sports cars, high handling limits, RWD, get great gas mileage, reliable, and have a big aftermarket available. You could probably find a good 350Z, also a RWD sports car, but with more punch, and more muscular styling. Whatever you get, though, make sure to shop for insurance quotes before making a decision. At your age, certain cars can really be expensive to insure.
