It is well worth that wait, as your car will drive completely different for the better when you get it back....

Can someone explain to me in detail what it feels like to have this problem. I have a 2012 LFX and don't know what the symptoms would be in case I experienced such problems.

It feels like you have a out of balance tire, it actually shudders, shakes what ever you want to say. you'll know it when it happens.

It also makes the car feel like the engine has a miss and it does not. It also shifts erractically at low speeds or when the engine is under a load, like crossing a high bridge or going up a hill light footing it.

Other than that, you will notice a very uncomfortable Shuddering feeling like the Clutches inside your Transmission are Slipping, when indeed it is the Torque Converter going out! If you have any of these symtoms, take it into your local GM Dealership, as there is a Technical Service Bulleting (TSB) on this ongoing problem.

All 2012 Camaro LS, LT Series with the 6L50 Tranmission will eventually have this problem if they do not already and GM found the fix and everyone is now getting the Upgraded 2013 Torque Converters installed for this fix. Further the Cadillac CTS with either the 3.0 or 3.6 Liter Engines with this same 6L50 Transmission are having the same problem for just the 2012 Models ONLY! No other year is effected!

Mine felt like when I was just cruising at 40-50 mph, that it was stuck between gears and then when minor pedal pressure was applied to kick it down a gear, it would pick up a bad vibration like I was driving over a washboard/ rumplestrip type feeling. My wife could tell from the passenger seat that sumtin' weren't right, it's that noticable.

That is another No Brainer, as your Converter definitely needs replacing, if it has not been done already, those symptoms were somewhat like mine, even worse!

Sounds like I need to take my car in :/ I have noticed that at times that some gears hang in too long and when they do, the gear shift is far from smooth

Exactly, this is also part of what my car was doing, along with the other problems effecting the overall drivability. Take it into your Dealership and have them pull the TSB, order and install the New Upgraded Converter for your car. Keep us posted as to how you make out!

I asked on another thread what the problem feels like. I tried to find some info on this site and finally found this thread. Thank you for posting the TSB. I have the 2012 with auto trans and the only thing I have noticed that on a rare occasion while bringing it up to speed at around the 40 to 50 mark the problem I have had that it seems like it can't decide what gear to select. It will upshift, then downshift or feel like the converter hasn't locked yet and feels like it is slipping and then engage. I have blown this off because it has only happened a few times. The converter not locking up is more noticeable now since it is single digits for temps and can tell the delay in lockup now. All my other vehicles did it this time of the year and below zero they didn't want to lock at all, talk about sucking up gas then. I will see if I get the shudder feeling and when I do off to the dealer I go. Thank you for the information.

Dean.
