ABQ Track Day at SMS!!!

Hey gang,

Big thanks to Curt for getting us in on some track time at Sandia Motorsports Speedway.

Looks like May 8th, we'll be out joining the Viper Club out on the track.

Looks like a $1.00 for the coffee, $4.00 for the breakfast burritos and $20.00 for 30 minutes of lapping.

Perhaps we can all meet closer in town and caravan/cruise/represent enroute up to SMS in case some of you haven't been there.

Chime in with ideas that best suit you guys as far as meeting when and where before.

This is an open invite to all New Mexico Camaro5ers!

Should be an awesome time and another great chance to talk Camaros again.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!,
Ivan

Folks,

I'll be putting together a flyer with all of the information and posting it here. We'll have the track from 8AM to 12PM (hopefully).

Tell all of your Camaro friends about this event.

We plan on making it a routine Saturday event for all car clubs. Plus, we're working on a bunch of new venues at the Sandia Motorsports Speedway.

Stay tuned,

Curt

Seems like only a handful of people know where it is...I've been there three times personally. Not many. But I def know where it is.

How about we meet and cruise up??

Where is convenient for everyone to meet up???

And a time??

Thanks guys,
Ivan

Fresh off of the Presses

Here's the official "updated" flyer for the SMS Driver's Club "Cars, Coffee, Chili, and Speed" events.

Our first "Camaro Track Day" will be May 8th. We'll be joining the Viper Club.

Ivan (Bad Karma) set the meet at the Sheraton Old Town where we'll caravan to the Sandia Motorsports Speedway. We'll leave from there at no later than 7:40 AM.

Afterward, we can take a cruise to Route 66 if you wish.

See you all there!!

Curt

Thought I would try this thread first! I met alot of you last Sunday when we all met at Dos Hermonos on Jefferson. I have sent an email to the Camaro5 site to see if there is a copyright on thier logo. If I can get the art work from them on thier logo then I can have some black T=shirts printed with the logo in white, possibly an abstract of the Camaro outline and then Albuquerque New Mexico Chapter or whateve everyone comes up with. I can get them fairly cheap....will work on it once we get approval and see if alot of you are interested. Keep watching this thread and the Albuquerque Cruising thread!

I'm sorry I won't be about to do the Sandia Raceway meet, but I will be in Phoenix that weekend! Next time for sure! Anyone up for a meet and greet and possible cruise on Sunday May 2nd? As Ivan said before, how about making it a monthly event. The first Sunday of the Month, meet at Dos Hermanos on Jefferson and then decide, depending on the weather , if we want to take a cruise! I'll keep watching!

NICE!!

Ok gang, looks like the action starts at 8:00.

Edit: Per Curt's eduacted suggestion, let's meet at the Sheraton Old Town at 7:30 sharp...that way we can wait for straglers if people are running late.

This cool with everyone???

My first time road coarsing so I don't know how to play that part yet.

Either way, should be a bucket of fun and good times.

And where else can we pay $20 bucks and run the cars as hard as we want without having to worry about the fuzz??

Perhaps a RT66 cruise afterwards if everyone is down??? That might be pretty cool.

Chime in and let's plan it!
-Ivan

Ok may 8, 7:30 sharp, Sheraton old town, cool were there. Not too sure I'll put my car on the track or not, never done anything like that before unless you count go-carts and I couldn't even keep them on there! So 430 horses might equal fail !!!!!!!

I sure hope my car's all back together by then. I always look forward for a chance to drive fast and not worry about tickets! Does anyone know if there are any rules, such as helmets etc...
